Special Exhibit - Guests of the Third Reich: American POWs in Europe
November 11, 2012 - February 3, 2013
The National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA
Guests of the Third Reich: American POWs in Europe will examine the diverse experiences of POW life for thousands of Americans held in captivity by the Nazis. Drawing on the Museum's rich collection of POW artifacts, the exhibit will highlight the personal and unique stories of individuals, including oral histories from some of the "guests" of these camps. Guests of the Third Reich will also allow a glimpse inside the Museum's seven rare POW Wartime Logs (produced by the YMCA and distributed by the Red Cross). These works, as well as select assets from the exhibit, will also be available online, offering a deeper look into everyday life inside of some of the camps.
