With more than 1,900 participants from academia, think tanks, NGOs, government and businesses from around the world, the ASEEES convention is the premier gathering of specialists in the field
WHAT: Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) 44th Annual Convention
WHERE: New Orleans Marriott
WHEN: November 15-18, 2012
DETAILS: The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) will hold its 44th Annual convention November 15-18, 2012, at the New Orleans Marriott. Participants will examine current US-Russian relations, as well as a wide array of topics related to Russia, Ukraine, Central Asia, and Eastern and Central Europe. Founded in 1948, ASEEES is the leading scholarly association in the world dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about the former Soviet Union (including Eurasia) and Eastern and Central Europe.
The convention will boast 430 panels and roundtables with discussions of a wide variety of topics. The roundtable format will allow for free-flowing, engaging conversation and debate with maximum audience interaction about the latest political and world events. Participants represent the United States and Russia, as well as different scholarly generations, and generally have multiple perspectives.
