On November 20, stroll along Canal Street and watch as the Downtown Development District and the Astor Crowne Plaza hotel "flip the switch," turning on more than 1 million twinkling lights on New Orleans' grand corridor.  The Fannie C. Williams Charter School Choir will entertain the crowd gathered for the lighting.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR'S LIGHTING EVENT AT THE ASTOR CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL

The public is invited to stop by the Astor's St. Charles Ballroom just off the lobby from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and decorate your own holiday cookie while enjoying complimentary hot cocoa or apple cider. Santa will be there to hear your wish list for the holidays. A Sugar Plum Fairy will greet everyone, kids can participate in a holiday bean bag toss and a strolling puppeteer will entertain kids young and old!  Bring an unwrapped, new toy and receive a free photo with Santa! Toys donated will benefit the children of the women served by Dress for Success New Orleans.
