"We could not have been more pleased with the turnout at our grand re-opening celebration and December auction," said Susan D. Krohn, owner and CEO of New Orleans Auction Galleries. "Not only did we have our largest crowd yet, but our guests were enthusiastic and eager to bid on the important objects we were fortunate enough to have for auction. We are particularly appreciative to our special guest Joanne King Herring for making our grand re-opening celebration a festive and memorable affair. We are already looking forward to the many events planned for the coming months."
The auction offered a variety of exceptional antiques, including a massive American 9-tune tall case clock, which brought $29,520 after fierce bidding among floor, internet and phone bidders. Special guest Joanne King Herring, global political activist and international socialite, consigned several unique items from her collection. Other featured property in the auction were the estates of Zoe B. Talbert, Tyler, Texas and James Julius Killough III, Houston, Texas, along with several other local estates and private collections.
