The Battle of New Orleans was fought just downriver from the city on January 8, 1815 and served to confirm a victory for the United States in the War of 1812.

This five-course candlelight dinner, served with wine, will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 6:30 pm and is open to individual guests at a purchase Price: $129 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuities

Throughout the US, groups are recreating events from the period of the War of 1812 as part of the Bicentennial celebrations. The War of 1812 is often referred to as the "War that Forged a Nation," or "America's Second War of Independence." Bicentennial commemorations and activities will continue through till the Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans (January 8, 2015.)
