Rebecca Rebouché and Jupiter Lala "Treat Yo'Self" Trunk Show Feb. 1 at The Beauty Shop

Who:    Rebecca Rebouché and Jupiter Lala

What:   Treat Yo'Self Trunk show, featuring contemporary folk paintings by Rebecca
Rebouché and handmade jewelry by Megan and Paul of Jupiter Lala

When:  Friday, Feb. 1, 2013
 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Where: The Beauty Shop, located at 3828 Dryades Street, New Orleans, LA, three blocks north of St. Charles Avenue

Why:   Locals and holidaymakers alike are invited to celebrate Carnival and hail Saint Valentine by stepping into the allegorical wonderland of painter Rebecca Rebouché and jewelry makers Megan and Paul of Jupiter LaLa, who will come together for one day only, at the corner of Dryades and General Taylor, offering paintings and jewels of the extraordinary sort.

The natural world comes to life in the work of these local artisans, whose shared obsessions with butterflies, trees, birds and foxes speak the language of hope, love, exuberance and magic. The revelry of the season is no better embraced than by these New Orleans-based artists offering up tiny paintings and glimmering jewels.

Artist and Anthropologie darling Rebecca Rebouché works in acrylic mixed media on hand-stretched canvas; Jupiter Lala's necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets are made of rose gold, sterling silver, diamonds and fossils.

Enjoy an afternoon of indulgence with champagne and king cake, and arrive early to find yourself among those with fortunes and prizes granted in the nostalgic fashion of handmade paper fortunetellers.
