Festival on the Lakefront Celebrates the State's Most Famous Crustacean
2nd annual Crawfish Mambo planned for May 11
WHAT: Crawfish Mambo
The 2nd annual Crawfish Mambo is a community-wide festival to celebrate Louisiana's most famous crustacean - the crawfish (or mudbug). Hosted by the UNO International Alumni Association, the Crawfish Mambo features a crawfish cook-off, all-you-can-eat boiled crawfish for festival attendees, live local music with other food and beverage available for purchase. This event will support the expansion of goal of strengthening student success through professional development programs at the University of New Orleans.

TICKETS: $15.00 - pre-purchased tickets prior to event date
$20.00 - day-of event tickets

PARTICIPATE: The Crawfish Mambo team is now accepting applications for four-member boil teams for the "Best Tasting Crawfish" competition. Each team will cook a minimum of 10 sacks of crawfish. The $250 entry fee provides teams crawfish to cook and they need to supply their own cooking utensils, spices and any additional fixings they wish to offer the crowds.
A panel of celebrity judges will determine the winner of the Cook-off Competition and the first, second and third place winners will be announced. Each team is also invited to compete for the Best Decorated Booth Award.
