and children, the elderly, families and individuals from all walks of
life. Our goal is to create long lasting changes that prevent problems
from happening.
We’ve
invited the city’s most talented chefs and first-rate restaurants to
put their dishes up against the competition in our annual
parade of gumbo. Our Krewe de Gumbo panel of celebrity judges will present awards for Best Traditional Gumbo,
Best Exotic Gumbo and Best Seafood Gumbo. We’re also giving the power to the people, who will
vote for the People’s Choice awards of Best Gumbo, Best Dessert, and Best
“Float” Table Decorations. Enjoy your heart’s content of the city’s best gumbos, live entertainment from Rick Trolsen and the New Orleans Po’boys
and if that wasn’t enough, we’ll be raffling off great prizes to further benefit the programs of United Way!
While
the competition is all in good fun, the cause is serious. To put it
simply, United Way supports the programs that support our
community.
