The Maison Dupuy Hotel Appoints New Managing Director

New Orleans (December 10, 2012) - Fillmore Hospitality announced the appointment of respected New Orleans hotelier, Steve Ferran, as Managing Director of The Maison Dupuy Hotel. As Managing Director of the luxury French Quarter hotel, Ferran will oversee all aspects of the hotel and its two restaurants including day-to-day operations of the hotel and staff, strategy and business development, fiscal management, client retention and employee recruitment.

"I'm thrilled to jump back into the hotel industry after taking a brief hiatus and could not be more honored to lead the Maison Dupuy and its loyal staff," said Ferran. "This is a very exciting time to join the Maison Dupuy team, with a new management company at the helm and impressive plans for the future of the hotel under development. We are all ecstatic about the future of the hotel and are looking forward to bigger and better things," he added.

Ferran, a 29-year veteran of the New Orleans hospitality industry, has served as General Manager of several hotels including the Omni Royal Orleans and the Loews New Orleans. He also held positions at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in Destin, FL. and the Renaissance Hotel in Baton Rouge, LA.

His experience in the New Orleans hospitality community additionally includes positions as Chairman of the Board for the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, board member for both the New Orleans Hotel & Lodging Association and the Past Presidents Council of the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau.

A native of New Orleans, Ferran was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church in 2006 and is a graduate of the University of New Orleans. He was a high school teacher for eight years before beginning a career in the hospitality field at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in 1984.
