Port Announces Schedule Changes To Access Stations Due To Mardi Gras Parades

Cruise Passengers, Port Truck Traffic To Be Unaffected

New Orleans-Due to the Mardi Gras Season and parades forming on Napoleon Avenue and Tchoupitoulas Street, the Port of New Orleans will make the following schedule changes to facility access stations. Port truck traffic may continue to access the Clarence Henry Truckway at Felicity Street uninterrupted throughout the schedule changes, as will cruise passengers normally accessing the Erato Street Cruise Terminal and the Julia Street Cruise Terminal. However, the following changes will be in place for the Napoleon Ave. and Nashville Ave. gates:

• Wednesday, February 6, 2013, the Napoleon Ave. gate will close at 4 p.m. and the Nashville Ave. gate will become the 24-hour gate until 6 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at which time the Nashville Ave. gate will return to its normal 12-hour schedule of 6 a.m. until 6 p.m.   

• Thursday, February 7, 2013, the Napoleon Ave. gate closes at 4 p.m. and the Nashville Ave. gate will be the 24-hour gate.

• Friday, February 8, 2013, the Napoleon Ave. gate closes at 4 p.m. and the Nashville Ave. gate will be the 24 hour gate.

• Saturday, February 9, 2013, Napoleon Ave. gate is closed and Nashville Ave. will be the 24-hour gate.

•   Sunday, February 10, 2013, Napoleon Ave. gate is closed and Nashville Ave. will be the 24-hour gate.

• Monday, February 11, 2013, Napoleon Ave. gate closes at 4 p.m. and Nashville Ave. will be the 24-hour gate.

• Tuesday, February 12, 2013, Napoleon Ave. gate is closed and Nashville Ave. will be the 24-hour gate.

• Wednesday, February 13, 2013, Napoleon Ave Gate opens at 6AM and resumes access as a 24 hour gate.  Nashville will close at 6:00pm and will again begin operating on a 12 hour schedule.
