W Hotels of New Orleans Launch Social Media Photo Contest for Mardi Gras

 

New Orleans, LA (February 4, 2013) - To capture and share the spirit of Mardi Gras through creative imagery, W Hotels of New Orleans, which includes W New Orleans and W New Orleans - French Quarter, announce a joint Instagram photo competition that kicks off this Thursday, Feb. 7, and lasts through Mardi Gras day. The hotels are encouraging fans to snap and share some of their best Mardi Gras photos for the chance to win a one-night stay at W New Orleans. 

To enter the contest, revelers can share their best Mardi Gras photos on Instagram through Mardi Gras day and tag the hotels by using @whotelsnola along with the hashtag #wmardigras. At 12:00 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, Feb. 13, W New Orleans will post the top five photos on its Facebook page. At this time, the hotels will invite fans to cast their vote for their favorite submission by clicking "like" underneath the pictures.  The participant whose photo gains the most "likes" by 12:00 p.m. (CT) on Monday, Feb. 18 will win a one-night stay at W New Orleans.

 "With the colorful beads, countless parades, beautiful floats and elaborate costumes, Mardi Gras is one of the most exciting times to be in New Orleans," says Debra Barton, general manager of W New Orleans. "Images can be powerful tools to connect with travelers looking to book their next vacations. To reach a much larger audience, we are encouraging our social media fans to help us share the sights of New Orleans during Mardi Gras with their fans through this Instagram and Facebook contest."
