New menu features returned favorites from the original René Bistrot

New Orleans - With the end of Winter...and just in time for Spring, René Bistro announces the release of their renovated lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch menus, all featuring returned favorites from the original René Bistrot.

The new menus, which were initially released last week, focuses on French-bistro-style cooking that provides a contemporary take using the traditions and ingredients from Southeast Louisiana. After guests continued to request dishes that they know and loved from the original René Bistrot, French Master Chef René Bajeux decided it was time to redesign his menus with tradition in mind.

The new menu will continue to change seasonally, including daily-changing lunch specials, and Chef René Bajeux will continue to offer the house-made House Charcuterie Variety of Pate, Rillette, and Pickled Vegetables. The new menus introduce 14 dishes to René Bistrot that combine the ingredients of Southeast Louisiana with traditional French cooking.

Some of the new items featured on the menu include:

  • - Roasted Bone Marrow, Raclette Tartine, Tomato Herb, Vierge
  • - Fried Oysters, Mirliton Slaw, French Tartare
  • - Chevre Chaud, Herb Chevre, Tomato Coulis, Garlic Crostini
  • - Roasted Portuguese Sardines, Octopus Salad
  • - Boudin Noir, Red Wine Braised Mushroom, Bordelaise
  • - Broken Arrow Ranch Wild Boar Bourguignon, Egg Noodle
  • - Beef Tongue, Yukon Gold Mashed Potato, Haricot Verts, Tomato Caper veloute
  • - Calf Liver, Roasted Red Onion, House Bacon, Turnip Sauerkraut, Bourbon Cherry Jus
  • - Chicken Grand Mere, Pearl Potato, Bacon, Mushroom, Pearl Onion, Matural Jus
    (the one dish from the original René Bistrot that most guests have asked for its return)
  • - Roasted ½ Chappapeela Duck, Cider Braised Romaine, Apple, Honey Balsamic Reduction

 

"When I reopened René Bistrot almost a year ago, I was thrilled to give our guests a menu with a fresh take on the culmination of southern cooking with traditional French dishes. But we continued to have guests come in and request their favorite dishes from our original restaurant," said René Bajeux. "Our team of chefs worked together to create a new menu that we believe is true to our roots but still brings our diner's favorites back to New Orleans."
