Rhonda Shear to headline FestiGals Weekend!

Hollywood Actress, Entrepreneur and Business Executive Coming Home to Headline Women's Festival

The most unique festival of its kind in the country, FestiGals, has selected Rhonda Shear as the event's Keynote Speaker.  Forbes Magazine describes the successful model, actress and entrepreneur as the "Queen of Reinvention."  Originally from New Orleans, Shear currently oversees a multi-million dollar lingerie empire headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.  In many ways, Shear's career path is a model for women seeking to redefine themselves after age 40. In fact, Shear is part of a growing new breed of business executives often referred to as "Boomerpreneurs."Rhonda Shear leads a powerful lineup of speakers on tap for FestiGals third annual weekend-long festival set in New Orleans June 20 through 23.  Like all of the women featured this year, Shear brings a depth of knowledge gained from practical experiences.  Her name is best associated today with Rhonda Shear Intimates, and more specifically, with the Ahh Bra, a product she personally designed and marketed on HSN and The Shopping Channel.  In just ten years, Shear's Ahh Bra exploded into the marketplace and quickly became the number one bra with over 30 million units sold worldwide.  Shear's intimate wear is only chapter two of her life.

Chapter one began as a young beauty queen when she got her first big commercial break and was hired to host USA Network's weekend show USA Up All Night.  Four hundred episodes later, Shear was well on her way.  With a string of co-starring roles in several popular television sitcoms including Married with Children, Happy Days, Dallas and Cheers, she became a household name in the 1980s and 90s.  Twenty-six years in Hollywood had laid the groundwork for the corporation that Shear would go on to build with her brand Rhonda Shear Intimates.

With success and fame, Shear immersed herself in the community around her lending both her name and her resources to organizations like Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The American Cancer Society.  While serving as the event chairwoman for ACS in St. Petersburg, Shear was inspired by the breast cancer survivors she met.  Today, she is a champion for breast cancer awareness, education and early detection and is currently working on a line of products specifically designed for women who have been through breast cancer surgery. Shear also continues her lifelong love affair with arts and entertainment by serving on the board of the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts and the Mahaffey Theater Foundation. Her keynote speech will be delivered at FestiGals signature event, the Bodacious Bras for a Cause Luncheon presented by Ray Brandt Infiniti and Porsche of New Orleans. The high-energy celebration where artfully designed bras from celebrities are auctioned off dedicates the proceeds to the Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans, a non-profit United Way community impact partner.

"It's fitting that someone like Rhonda Shear should deliver our Keynote Speech for this year's FestiGals," explains Diane Lyons, FestiGals Founder.  "Rhonda is a fearless, dynamic risk-taker.  She is a highly successful woman in every aspect of her professional life and she is living proof that women can realize their dreams at any age."    Shear has been recognized by Smart Business, is the 2012 Winner of Ernst & Young's Retail and Consumer Products Award in Florida, a finalist in 2012 and 2013 for the prestigious Stevie Awards for Most Innovative Company of the Year, named the 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year by Gulf Coast Business Review, honored with an Enterprising Woman Award, and selected as one of WPO's Top 50 Fastest Growing Woman-Owned Companies sponsored by American Express.

Rhonda Shear's homecoming in New Orleans this June connects her with hundreds of women throughout the country for four fun-filled all inspiring days of FestiGals frenzy. "Behind every great woman is a great behind, so bring yours to FestiGals," says Shear.  If you haven't yet planned your FestiGals experience in New Orleans June 20 through 23, you had better get moving!  Created by women for women, FestiGals is the ultimate girls-getaway weekend with inspirational seminars, enrichment workshops, a world-class culinary presentation, and a creative charity auction where ‘bras' take center stage with unlimited opportunities built in to just have fun.  FestiGals is the perfect woman's adventure set in one of the most unique cities in the world, New Orleans.  The best part is the entire weekend is already planned for you!  There is still time to purchase your value-driven FestiGals Ultimate PackageFor pricing, a complete schedule of events and all of the exciting details associated with this unique women's festival, visit FestiGals.org.
