New Orleans, LA-April 2013 marked a new beginning for downtown hotel, Westin New Orleans Canal Place with the arrival of General Manager, Scott Weber. Mr. Weber's career spans over 30 years of hospitality experience including 10 years in leadership roles with Starwood Hotels and Resorts \ Westin and 18 years with the Doubletree Hotel Corporation. He has held the position of General Manager at 10 hotels throughout North America including the four diamond Westin Westminster hotel in Colorado for eight years.. He has direct leadership experience related to new build, conversion and acquisition efforts for varying hotel product in marketplaces throughout the U.S.
Weber's leadership lifestyle is based around associate motivation, recognition and creating an entrepreneurial culture where everyone is passionate about their individual contribution. This type of associate culture is a catalyst to creating a unique, memorable and personalized guest experience. "It is my personal belief that if you establish a culture where leaders inspire the associates and associates inspire the leaders to want to be better, the remainder of the success model is realized at an accelerated pace," says Weber.
He is a specialist in analyzing a property's overall leadership and business performance, while implementing innovative revenue and flow through strategies, perfected during his years as a property level turnaround specialist. He is an organizational expert in assisting hotel owners and management companies in enhancing the value of each of their assets. He was fortunate enough to spend sometime in finance early on in his career, which has always allowed him a clear line of site to various ownership perspectives.
Weber will collectively work with the hotels executive team to become the catalyst to creative and innovative strategic thinking and results oriented action planning. His proven path to success has always centered on his ability to initiate change in a property's day to day business culture. Although his approach is creative and innovative, it has a sound foundation, based in proven strategic expertise personally implemented in multiple markets during his career. His direct training as a Six Sigma Green Belt has taken his belief in process improvement to an entirely different level. The value of Six Sigma strategies are uniquely accelerated in an acquisition environment. He will remove the mystery from a property's current performance, build on its strengths and reposition it for enhanced future success while building bottom line market value.
