Crescent City Lights Youth Theater 2013 Summer Application Deadline & Auditions


WHO:                           Crescent City Lights Youth Theater and local youth grades 4 - 12

WHAT:                         Crescent City Lights Youth Theater is seeking applications for 2013 Summer Auditions for A Pocket Full of Rhymes (for grades 4 - 12) and Children's Letters to God (for grades 4 - 10).

WHEN:                         Application Deadline - Monday, May 6 by 6:00 PM
                                   Auditions (By Application & Appointment Only) - Tuesday, May 7

WHERE:                       NORD Ty Tracy Theatre, 545 St. Charles Ave.

                                    Note: Enter theatre via Lafayette St. stage door; auditions by appointment only

HOW:                           Visit www.crescentcitylights.org to download the audition application form today. Completed applications along with the $10 application fee ($20 fee if applying for both shows) must be received by the Crescent City Lights Youth Theater business office (305 Baronne St., Suite 302) by Monday, May 6 via mail or hand delivery.

WHY:                           Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Crescent City Lights Youth Theater provides quality performing arts programming for Greater New Orleans Area youth.

The 2013 Crescent City Lights Youth Theater Summer Season features A Pocket Full of Rhymes - a Broadway classic that sets nursery rhymes to a catchy contemporary score covering the range of 20th century music - and Children's Letters to God - an Off-Broadway show that follows the lives of children as they voice beliefs, desires, questions and doubts common to all people.

Scheduled performances include A Pocket Full of Rhymes from Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 21 and Children's Letters to God from Friday, August 16 through Sunday, August 25. Advance tickets are available for $15 starting Monday, May 27 at www.crescentcitylights.org.

Founded in 1993, the Crescent City Lights Youth Theater, a program of Stage to Stage, Inc, a 501c3 nonprofit corporation, is dedicated to providing quality performing arts opportunities for young people, while teaching them the life and job skills necessary for success in any field. A partner organization of the City of New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, the Crescent City Lights Youth Theater was named the Downtown Development District's 2012 Best Kept Secret and has won numerous regional awards at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, GA and placed third (among all adult groups) at the 2011 Louisiana AACT Theater Festival.
