THE RITZ-CARLTON, NEW ORLEANS - A TEMPTATION OF THE SENSES

Ritz-Carlton Creates One-Of-A-Kind Experience for Guests

NEW ORLEANS, La. - May 31, 2013 - New Orleans is a city that is defined by its diverse and eclectic cultural heritage. It is a "Temptation of the Senses" from its world-class cuisine and classic cocktails to its rich musical roots and unique architecture.

The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans tempts guest senses through unique offerings and events that created one-of-a-kind experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.  From interactive lessons on local cuisine, to hand crafted cocktails that celebrate the home of the cocktail, The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans truly is a celebration of New Orleans, a "Temptation of the Senses."

Hand Crafted Cocktails in the Davenport Lounge

The Davenport Lounge has unveiled a new cocktail menu just in time for the summer.  Featuring refreshing new takes on some classic cocktails, the masterful bartenders in the lounge use house made mixers, house-infused spirits and the finest ingredients to make these hand crafted cocktails one-of-a-kind.  Some of the new offerings include the Dutch Donkey (our take on the Moscow Mule), The Southern Storyteller and the Blonde Hurricane (a house mixed hurricane using Old New Orleans Rum).

One-of-a-Kind Amenities

For guests looking to take home a unique keepsake from their stay in New Orleans, these unique amenities offer a sampling of what New Orleans has to offer:

  • Birthplace of Jazz
    • While Jazz can be heard the world over, there is no mistaking where it calls home. This amenity includes: the latest CD from Jeremy Davenport (The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans' headline entertainer), Groove Interrupted (a book chronicling music in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina), a history of Jazz letter, and two (2) complimentary drinks in the Davenport Lounge.
  • Culinary Destination
    • New Orleans is a melting pot of global cuisine with Cajun and Creole fare dominating the culinary landscape. The blending of these two cultures have turned the Crescent City into a culinary destination renowned the world over. This amenity includes: Cooking Up a Storm (a compilation of recipes from The Times-Picayune), a bottle of creole seasoning, and M bistro's own gumbo recipe from Chef de Cuisine, Frank Gray.
  • Home of the Cocktail
    • While there is a heated debate as to where the first "cocktail" originated, there is no denying that it currently calls New Orleans home. This one-of-a-kind amenity includes: Customized Ritz-Carlton Wine Glasses, a special cocktail recipe from one of the Davenport Lounge's bartenders, Obituary Cocktail (a book featuring the great saloons of New Orleans), a History of the Cocktail letter, and two (2) complimentary drinks in the Davenport Lounge.

Snowball Sommelier

Guests can retreat from the heat and enjoy a real New Orleans snowball crafted by The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans' own Snowball Sommelier. These sweet summer treats are offered in regular and "spiked" varieties for those wishing to imbibe. The Snowball Sommelier will be available in the Courtyard every Saturday in July and August.
