The Secret Rescue tells the story of twenty-six Army Air Forces flight nurses and medics crash landing their military transport plane in Nazi territory. In foreign enemy territory and with only one gun among them, their ensuing months-long fight to survive is one of the many forgotten stories of World War II.
This untold story of the courage and heroism of ordinary people is not only a new tale of struggle and endurance, but also one of the daring rescue attempts by clandestine American and British organizations amid the tumultuous landscape of the war.
