GALATOIRE'S RESTAURANT TO HOST WINE DINNER SERIES BEGINNING JULY 31

(NEW ORLEANS) - July 11, 2013 - Galatoire's Restaurant announces the launch of a monthly wine dinner series, featuring the wines of Nicolas Bazan, Château de Beaucastel, Spring Mountain Winery and Far Niente Winery, beginning Wednesday, July 31, continuing monthly through October.

The first of the Galatoire's wine dinner series will take place on Wednesday, July 31, at Galatoire's Restaurant and will feature wines by New Orleans local, Nicolas Bazan. Internationally recognized, Bazan wines are known for encompassing his life experiences, including research, travel and a keen appreciation for memorable flavors.

The second installment of the Galatoire's wine dinner series will feature the wines of Château de Beaucastel on Wednesday, August 28, at Galatoire's Restaurant. Originating in the south of France, Château de Beaucastel is widely considered one of the most celebrated wineries of the Rhône Valley.

From the vineyards of Saint Helena, California, Galatoire's third wine dinner will feature the wines of Spring Mountain Winery on Wednesday, September 25, at Galatoire's Restaurant. Crafted to reflect the unique terroir of Spring Mountain, all wines from the Spring Mountain Vineyard are estate-grown.

Galatoire's will conclude the dinner series on Wednesday, October 2, at Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak featuring the wines of Far Niente Winery. Founded in Oakville, California, Far Niente is consistently recognized as a key producer of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Far Niente wines are best known for their ability to age gracefully and become more distinct with time.

Each Galatoire's wine dinner will begin at 7 p.m. and feature creations by Executive Chef Michael Sichel alongside other Galatoire's classics that will complement the featured wines. Wine dinners will take place on the second floor of Galatoire's Restaurant and at the newest addition to the Galatoire's family of restaurants, Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak dining room. Tickets are $100 per guest, inclusive of tax and gratuity. For more information and reservations, call (504) 525-2021. Limited seating is available.

A national dining institution, Galatoire's in New Orleans, was honored with the prestigious James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant in 2005 and named as one of New Orleans' Top 10 Restaurants in 2012. Galatoire's has earned the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence every year from 2007 to 2010, and from 2011 to 2013 achieved the Best of Award of Excellence for its wine list. Saveur also named Galatoire's Friday Lunch one of its "25 Greatest Meals Ever," while Bon Appetit magazine has recognized Galatoire's as one of the nation's "Top Celebration Restaurants."
