THNOC to participate in fifth annual Culture Collision at Generations Hall

 

WHO: The Historic New Orleans Collection and more than 60 New Orleans cultural arts organizations

WHAT: Culture Collision 5, hosted by WWNO and sponsored by New Orleans & Me, Generations Hall, and Canary Collective

WHEN: Wednesday, August 28, 2013
                        Arts fair & networking: 5:30-8 p.m.
                        After party featuring Morning 40 Federation: 8-10 p.m.

WHERE: Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Dr., New Orleans, La.

HOW: Admission is to the arts fair & networking is free.
Tickets to the after-party are $10 in advance online or $12 at the door.

Refreshments will be available for purchase at both events.

WHY: The Historic New Orleans Collection returns as a participant in Culture Collision 5, a one-of-a-kind happy hour event that brings together more than 60 of New Orleans' cultural organizations. Each institution will exhibit materials on their membership opportunities, previews of their upcoming seasons and schedules and information for participants to take home. This year's event will be followed by a ticketed after-party featuring local funk/rock band Morning 40 Federation from 8-10 p.m.

In celebration of five successful years, Culture Collision 5 will include pop-up performances by select organizations, a free raffle and a free photo booth. Multiple cash bars and a variety of food vendors will also be on site. Members of the local media can report, tweet and interview representatives from participating organizations in the exclusive Media Center, also new this year.

Culture Collision 5 is hosted by WWNO and is sponsored by New Orleans & Me, Generations Hall and Canary Collective. It is organized by the Arts Council of New Orleans, Louisiana Philharmonic OrchestraLoyola University Montage Series, New Orleans Ballet Association, New Orleans Opera Association, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and Southern Rep. In addition to The Historic New Orleans Collection, other participating organizations include the New Orleans Museum of Art, the National World War II Museum, Prospect New Orleans and the Ashe Cultural Arts Center, among many others.
