6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
American Sector at The National WWII Museum
The date: October 1066. The place: Hastings. The prize: The crown of England. Join Director of Education Kenneth Hoffman as he retraces the steps of William of Normandy across the English Channel and into battle against Harold Godwinson - a battle that would change the course of history. How did it all happen 878 years before the Allied invasion was launched the opposite way from England to France? With Vikings, sieges, hostages, a special appearance by Halley's comet, and a fateful arrow in the eye. You may be surprised by the connections to WWII. Space is limited and reservations are required.
