  ArT HOME NEW ORLEANS 4TH ANNUAL TOUR OPENS THE DOORS
TO CREATIVE SPACES IN CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT


ArT Home New Orleans
welcomes the public once again into the spaces of the creative and culturally-minded for its 4th annual weekend tour presented by the Creative Alliance of New Orleans (CANO), cano-la.org.

WHAT: ArT Home New Orleans
is an annual self-guided public tour that pulls back the curtain on the city's authentic cultural life. Based in the Central Business District this year in conjunction with the Art for Arts' Sake cultural season kick-off, ArT Home New Orleans 2013 shines a light on the creative work-life of downtown New Orleans. Participants will explore the old American Sector by visiting studios of creative artists and producers, art-filled offices and incubators, private residences, as well as downtown's finest bars.

WHEN: Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th from 12-5pm.

WHERE: The tour begins at the Contemporary Arts Center at 900 Camp Street. The Saratoga Building, the Maritime Building, the Union Lofts, the design studio of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple, the Civic Theater, and Borgne Restaurant are among the over 20 sites on the ArT Home New Orleans 2013 itinerary.

HOW: With ticket purchase, tour participants receive a wristband for entry and collector's item map to guide them from site to site. Tickets are available by calling call 504-218-4807 or online at arthomeneworleans2013.eventbrite.com. Day passes available for $20 per day. A weekend pass is a bargain at $30 for Saturday and Sunday. Student tickets are $15 for one day and $20 for the weekend.

WHY: ArT Home New Orleans
connects locals and visitors with local emerging creatives. The program (1) showcases the work of New Orleans based creative artists and producers of many disciplines; (2) encourages the collection of art by installing works available for purchase and showcasing local private collections; and (3) provides an enriching cultural experience for locals and visitors therefore encouraging repeat visits.

WHO: CANO is producing ArT Home New Orleans 2013 in partnership with local creative producers, art collectors, the Downtown Development District, the New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corporation, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation.

CANO's mission is to provide training, education and information for creative artists, cultural producers, and the community, to protect our cultural legacy and to promote the revitalization of the city as a cultural and economic center.
