AnnualArt Show & Patron Party Benefits Poydras Home

Original Artistic Creations for Sale by more than 150 Local and Regional Artists

New Orleans, LA (September 30, 2013) - An elegant setting, more than 2500 works of art  by Louisiana and regional artists, and the opportunity to support a compassionate New Orleans organization  - it's the 19th Annual Poydras Home Art Show & Patron Party, November 1 - 3, 2013, on the beautiful grounds of Poydras Home, 5354 Magazine St., New Orleans.

The three-day event will feature works by acclaimed local and regional artists, with a portion of sales benefitting the nonprofit PoydrasHome. A patron party on Friday, Nov. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., includes a preview of juried art, silent auction, food, libations and entertainment. Prominent pieces of hanging art will be displayed for judging by Mary Len Costa, major gifts and foundations officer of the Arts Council of New Orleans.

"We are very grateful for the support and dedication of the New Orleans community to Poydras Home's annual fundraiser," said Anne Buescher, co-chair of the event along with Dolores Hall and Delia Hardie. "We like to hear how our art show patrons throughout the years have purchased art they love, all while helping advance the mission of Poydras Home."

Serious collectors and casual enthusiasts will all find something to enjoy as artwork fills Poydras Home, both outside on the beautiful grounds and within the historic building.  Offerings at this year's show include hanging juried art and photography; oils, watercolors and acrylics; mixed media paintings; bronzes, wood, copper, clay and mixed media sculptures; ceramics, glass art, photography, jewelry and fine arts. Featured artists include glassblower Andrew Pollack, photographer Nat Fleck, painter and sculpture Anne Michael Pappas, and many others, including Thomas Burger, Jan Wilken, Sarah Burnette, Jo-Ann Adams and last year's winner of the juried competition, Michelle E. Lambert

The Poydras Home Art Show will take place Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 3, from noon to 4 p.m.

Tickets for the Patron Party on Friday, Nov. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. are $100, and include entertainment and fabulous food in the unique setting of Poydras Home's historic building. Tickets may be purchased by calling (504) 897-0535. Find out more by visiting www.poydrashome.com
