The ROOTS OF MUSIC 5th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2013:
Culinary Delights, Creative Cocktails and Live Entertainment

The Roots of Music is New Orleans' non-profit organization dedicated to teaching, supporting and empowering New Orleans' youth through music education, academic support and mentorship, while preserving and promoting New Orleans' unique musical and cultural heritage. The Roots of Music will celebrate its 5th anniversary with an evening of live musical performances, culinary delights, creative cocktails, an impressive array of auction items and celebrity guest appearances.  The much-anticipated event will take place Friday, November 15th at 6:30 p.m. at a private home in the Garden District.  A limited number of tickets, priced at $150 per person are available.

"For the past 5 years, we've had such amazing support from incredible people and have managed to grow this organization to serve well over 100 kids each year from over 40 schools in New Orleans," says co-founder Derrick Tabb (Rebirth Brass Band).  "Now supporters can come out and celebrate with a great night of food, drinks and live music."

Special guest New Orleans Pelicans Head Coach, Monty Williams will get things rolling, along with emcee Mike Hoss of WWLTV.  Live performances include The Roots of Music Marching Crusaders and Rebirth Brass Band.  Guests can enjoy tasty offerings from Dis Taco and Killer Poboys; sweet treats from Stella; and an array of specialty cocktails from Molly's on the Market's Trey Monaghan and craft beer from NOLA Brewing.  A silent auction and other guest appearances will complete the evening.

Priced at $150 per person, tickets for The Roots of Music 5th anniversary celebration on Friday, November 15th are extremely limited. To purchase tickets please visit
