The SAENGER THEATRE welcomes CELTIC THUNDER MYTHOLOGY TOUR

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17

7:30PM

TICKETS NOW ON SALE

New Orleans, October 28, 2013 - The world-renowned super group - comprised of vocalists Emmet Cahill, Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, George Donaldson, Neil Byrne and Colm Keegan - continues to astonish audiences, traveling as easily across the genres of folk, traditional Irish, adult contemporary, rock and classical crossover, as they travel the world, performing for an ever-growing number of fans. The band just wrapped a highly successful 67 show American tour ending in Los Angeles just days after the band found time to squeeze into their schedule a benefit concert and day of outreach in NYC for victims of Hurricane Sandy. The band's efforts raised over $50,000 for residents of the affected area, Rockaway Beach, NY.

Their latest album, MYTHOLOGY, presents the perfect blend of entertainment, ideology and Gaelic spirituality, providing a modern twist on the old Celtic storytelling tradition.  The release of MYTHOLOGY will be backed by a major North American tour, which will travel to 65 cities coast to coast in both Canada and the U.S., including a stop in New Orleans, LA at the Saenger Theatre on November 17, 2013.  In addition to the six main vocalists, the tour will also feature strings, guitar, percussion, whistles, pipes, guitars and more in the eight- piece Celtic Thunder band. The tour's musical director is David Munro, who also plays keyboards in the show.

Celtic Thunder has become one of public television's largest draws. In terms of viewers, their shows have aired over 16,000 times on Public Television. The group is among the top five audience-generating acts on the network. Check local listings for airing dates/times of Celtic Thunder's new MYTHOLOGY special.

"We had a blast making MYTHOLOGY. The music choices were carefully selected to suit each guys' personalities and give them something they can really dig their teeth into. The musical arrangements, the orchestra, the band are all great also, and really help to create our best show to date. It's great to be singing songs that are so much a part of who we are. It's our heritage and it really resonates in MYTHOLOGY " Neil Byrne, Celtic Thunder

Named Top World Music Artist twice by industry bible Billboard, Celtic Thunder's six male soloists perform both solo and ensemble numbers. They are known for performing an eclectic mix of songs, ranging from traditional Irish fare to international hits such as "The Boys are Back in Town" and "Still Haven't Found", as well as original compositions by the musical directors/composers and individual group member Keith Harkin's "Lauren & I". Their live shows are recognized for the use of dramatic effects via lighting and choreography as well as a stage set resembling an ancient stone pathway drawn from Celtic lore.

Tickets for Celtic Thunder are on sale now. They are available at the Saenger Theatre Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.  The box office, located at 1111 Canal St., is open Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Ticket prices: $29.75, $39.75, $49.75, $59.75, $79.75. All tickets subject to applicable service charges and fees.
