TSA PrePTM Now at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

TSA PrePTM Now at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

NEW ORLEANS -  The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will address the media at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) on December 18th  to discuss the roll-out of TSA Pre✓TM,  part of the agency's larger effort to implement risk-based security, and also to provide packing  tips for the busy holiday travel season.

TSA Pre✓TM is an expedited screening initiative and at MSY, select American, United, Delta, Southwest, JetBlue, and US Airways frequent flyers and members of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs may receive expedited screening benefits when traveling.

For those travelers directed to the expedited screening lane, it means they will be allowed to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, and keep their laptop and their 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag inside their carry-on.

Passengers who are eligible for TSA Pre✓TM include U.S. citizens of frequent traveler programs invited by participating airlines, U.S. citizens who are members of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs, Canadian citizens who are members of CBP's NEXUS program and passengers traveling on a participating airline who TSA proactively prescreens using its Secure Flight system. This means many more people will be experiencing these lanes.   And later this year TSA will expand its application program, allowing more U.S. citizens to enroll in TSA Pre✓TM.

To date, more than 25 million passengers across the country have experienced TSA Pre✓TM.   TSA Pre✓TM is now available at more than 100 airports, so passengers should look for the notation on their boarding pass and seek out the proper lane at their destination airport for their return flights as well.

WHO:             Sari Koshetz, Spokesperson,  Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Department of Homeland Security

WHAT:          Remarks and photo/B-Roll opportunities of TSA's Pre✓TM lane and a selection of prohibited items you shouldn't be bringing to the checkpoint.

WHEN:          Wednesday, December 18, 1:30 p.m.

WHERE:       Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, Checkpoint D.

NOTE:           Interested media should RSVP to
