NEW ORLEANS - December 13, 2013 - The New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce Vicki Voelker Bristol as the new manager of communications.
Bristol, who previously served as a communications strategist at Gambel Communications, brings public relations experience in managing dozens of companies spanning business, hospitality, association and non-profit. Her innovative and strategic PR thinking recently earned her recognition nationally by PR News as a PR Person to Watch, an annual award given to rising PR professionals under 30-years-old.
Bristol earned a Master's degree in Hospitality and Tourism form the University of New Orleans and a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication from Loyola University. Additionally, she is active in several local organizations including the Young Leadership Council and Junior League of New Orleans, and serves as a board member for Committee for a Better New Orleans.
As manager of communications, Bristol will report to Kelly Schulz, VP of communications and public relations. She will manage the CVB's agency partners, organize press trips, assist journalists covering New Orleans, and lead a proactive media relations/story development campaign.
