Robert Bray, Area General Manager of New Orleans Marriott International, serves as Chairman
NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 3, 2014) - According to publications such as National Geographic Traveler and Australia's Flight Centre, New Orleans is a top destination for travelers in 2014. To lead the city's tourism industry into the new year, the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) inducted its 2014 Board of Directors to be key leaders in the city's tourism industry. This esteemed group of business leaders provides the strategic direction for New Orleans' $6 billion tourism industry and advances the interests of the CVB's 1,100 members. Serving as Chairman of the Board is Robert Bray, the Area General Manager of the New Orleans Marriott International.
Bray has worked for Marriott International for more than 20 years. His Marriott career began in 1990 in California, then after nine years, Bray and his family moved to New Orleans where he opened first the Renaissance Pere Marquette Hotel and then the Renaissance Arts as General Manager of both properties. Late in 2004, the Bray's moved from New Orleans to St. Louis where Robert managed the 1083-room Renaissance St. Louis Grand & Suites complex. After seven rewarding years in St. Louis, Robert was named Area General Manager of the New Orleans Marriott in 2012.

The Nominating Committee received nominations from the CVB members and selected board candidates based on their industry knowledge, experience and diversity. The slate was elected by the CVB's membership at the Annual Business Meeting held on December 18, 2013.
