W New Orleans Kicks Off #wmardigras Social Media Photo Contest

Fans Invited to Capture Mardi Gras Festivities for Chance to Win a 2-night Stay at W Fort Lauderdale

New Orleans, LA (February 20, 2014) - To capture and share the spirit of Mardi Gras through creative imagery, W New Orleans is hosting a social media photo competition, "Snap, Share and Win: #wmardigras Photo Contest," for the second year in a row that kicks off this Friday, Feb. 21. The hotel is encouraging fans to snap and share some of their best Mardi Gras moments through Twitter, Instagram or Facebook until Wednesday, March 5 for the chance to win a two-night stay at W Fort Lauderdale.

To enter the contest, revelers can share their photos on Instagram or Twitter by tagging #wmardigras and @whotelsnola in the post or by submitting the image directly through the contest tab on the W New Orleans Facebook page. The deadline to submit photos is 5:00 p.m. (CT) on Wednesday, March 5.  At that time, a gallery of the top images will be available on the Facebook page where fans can vote for their favorite by Liking, Commenting or Sharing the image. Voting will end on Monday, March 10 at 5:00 p.m. (CT). The photographer whose image has the most activity will win the 2-night stay.

"Images can be powerful, long-lasting tools to connect with travelers looking to book their next vacations," said John Thompson, general manager of W New Orleans. "Mardi Gras presents an excellent opportunity to engage with people outside of the city by snapping and sharing pictures that illustrate the excitement of Carnival season. We received some terrific pictures last year that truly captured the spirit of Mardi Gras, so we are looking forward to seeing what our social media fans will submit this year."
