MUSICIAN-INSPIRED COCKTAILS AT PHIL'S GRILL
Hand-Crafted Libations Pay Homage to New Orleans' Music Legends

 

When restaurateur Phil de Gruy opened his award-winning burger restaurant in New Orleans' Warehouse District in December 2013, he set out to bring downtown locals and visitors great food, drinks and a piece of history.  Housed in an historic building on Camp between Julia and Girod Streets, the restaurant space was once home to recording icon Cosimo Matassa's studio, where he captured the sound of legends like Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Clarence "Frogman" Henry, Dixie Cups and Dr. John, among others.  In honor of the musical greats that recorded there, Phil's Grill has introduced an array of signature musician-inspired cocktails.

Under the auspices of resident cocktail-guru Rory Gonlag, guests can enjoy innovative twists on classics such as the FAT MAN -  bacon-infused vodka, Worcestershire, hot sauce, tomato juice, olives, lime and spicy beans; COSIMO - Ketel One Citron, fresh squeezed cranberry and lime juices and muddled strawberries; and DIXIE CUP  - Pimm's Liqueur, cucumber, lime, orange and fresh squeezed lemonade, garnished with mint.  Even non-bourbon drinkers will fall in love with the TOUSSAINT TCHOUP, a savory-sweet concoction featuring Makers Mark and fresh squeezed apple juice, balanced by the smoky-saltiness of a pecan-wood bacon strip, finished with a cherry garnish.  Imbibers looking for a light, refreshing alternative will enjoy the FESSOR - Cruzan Rum, muddled strawberries and blueberries, mint, soda and lime.  Phil's Grill also offers a variety of specialty beers, available on tap, as well as a full bar featuring premium liquor.

Guests can complement their cocktails with tasty snacks such as fried pickle chips; fresh-cut potato skins; crispy onion strings; zucchini fries and more.  Hungry? Phil's Grill offers over a million possible combinations of burgers, toppings, sauces, greens and buns. Diners can pick from 100% Angus Beef; Portobello Mushroom; Turkey; Grilled Chicken; Veggie, Tuna, Bison, Alligator or premium burgers such as the Phillet - 100% ground filet mignon  or Fat City Burger (Angus stuffed with American cheese and deep fried); Lagniappe (ground Angus and Hot Sausage); and Zapp's® Crusted Chicken Breast.  Specialty shakes, floats and sides round out the menu.
