Friday, May 9   8:00 a.m. - noon

Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Two Poydras Street

Free and open to the public

Garden Clubs from across the southern United States will display beautiful floral displays at a flower show hosted by member clubs of the Garden Club of America, presented as part of the organization's 101st Annual Meeting this May in New Orleans.

The "Rhythm of the Rivers" Flower Show will be held at the Hilton Riverside at Two Poydras Street on Thursday, May 8 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Friday, May 9 from  8:00 a.m. - noon.

Over 30 vendors will be on hand in the Lagniappe Boutique to sell art, clothing, jewelry and items for both men and women.  The boutique is open from May 6 - 10 during select hours.

Silk Scarf Fundraising Effort

The Host Committee is selling a beautiful commemorative scarf designed by the Worth Collection. The scarf echoes the meeting's theme, "Rhythm of the Rivers" and features streams of aqua and green, dotted with blue irises and taupe cattails flowing through the scarf, depicting the rivers, flora and wetlands of this area. Tiny white fleur-de-lis, the iconic symbol of New Orleans, grace one panel while a rolled edge of citron green adds pop to the beautiful watercolor design. The 12" x 72" oblong silk chiffon scarf sells for $100 and may be purchased at C Collection, 8141 Maple Street, New Orleans, LA 70118, (504) 861-5002.  It will also be on sale at the Lagniappe Boutique during the annual meeting. Proceeds from Boutique and Scarf sales will go to offset the expenses for the meeting.

About the 101st Annual Meeting

Over 650 delegates from member clubs of the Garden Clubs of America will be in attendance.  The New Orleans meeting is co-chaired by Barbara Bush of the New Orleans Town Gardeners and Julie George of the Garden Study Club.  Twenty clubs from the region - LA, ARK, MS, TX AND TN - are co-hosting this year's event.

The mission of The Garden Club of America is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening; to share the advantage of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications; and to restore, improve and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.  www.gcamerica.org
