WWOZ 90.7 FM Honors New Orleans Jazz Pianist Ellis Marsalis during 26th Annual Piano Night

Flagship fundraiser celebrates New Orleans' music culture and features all-star lineup April 28th

WHAT: WWOZ 90.7 FM is ‘Jazzin' it up!' to celebrate New Orleans' most talented piano players during its 26th

Annual Piano Night fundraiser, taking place Monday, April 28th at New Orleans' House of Blues. Piano Night is WWOZ's flagship fundraiser and has become a tradition among New Orleans' music lovers and those traveling to the city for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. This year's benefit concert features five hours of uninterrupted musical performances by Ellis Marsalis and other musical greats, performing from all three House of Blues stages-offering guests three distinct listening experiences throughout the event. The night also includes food provided by 12 of New Orleans' favorite restaurants, along with a live broadcast on WWOZ locally.

"WWOZ is incredibly proud to honor New Orleans' music tradition throughout the years with our Piano Night fundraiser," says Dwayne Breashears, Program Director for WWOZ. "This year's amazing talent-including Ellis Marsalis, among many others-has helped build upon the foundation that has shaped not only our radio station, but our city. We're honored to work with an incredibly passionate team to produce the best off-site Jazz Fest-related event in New Orleans!"

Piano Night offers music enthusiasts several ways to enjoy five hours of uninterrupted music for unique listening experiences, including Club 88 with exclusive performances in the intimate Foundation Room; Piano Heaven, featuring a catered patron party and seating for 150 in the Parish; and performances from The Main Stage, the largest and most energetic venue.

WWOZ would like to thank its Piano Night 2014 Corporate Sponsors: Peoples Health, Nola Motorsports Park and Silk Road Collection. WWOZ would also like to acknowledge Piano Night Committee Chair Deborah Harkins, along with committee members Mary Johnston Norris, Ruth Chouest, Julie Wise Oreck, Belinda Lewis Batiste, Greg Probst and Virginia Miller.
