Consistently ranked one of the best fireworks displays in the nation, the Crescent City Countdown is a don't-miss! The fun will begin as live music performances leading up to the midnight fireworks show. The official countdown to midnight begins at 11:45 p.m. When the clock strikes midnight, an 8-foot LED fleur de lis will drop from the top of Jax Brewery Condominiums, kicking off a spectacular 15-minute fireworks symphony over the mighty Mississippi River.
This incredible view is open to the public. You can get a great view of the fireworks along the Mississippi River at Washington Artillery Park.
The Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year's Eve Parade, a Mardi Gras-style parade with floats, bands and other participants, entertains fans young and old prior to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The parade begins at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Decatur Street at 3:30 p.m. CT. It will proceed up Decatur Street, past Jackson Square and the Allstate Fan Fest, and wrap up at Canal Street.
For a fantastic view of the annual fleur-de-lis drop, head to Jackson Square where you can experience live music and enjoy the fireworks spectacular at midnight. It is FREE and open to the public.
This New Year's Eve, the historic Joy Theater on Canal Street is bringing the funk. The New Mastersounds will be returning to the Joy for their fourth consecutive New Year's show at the legendary venue. Dump the Funk and other guests will also join the party to make this one of the best New Year's Eve parties in New Olreans.
For one of the biggest New Year's celebrations in the Big Easy, head over to the Big Night New Orleans New Year's Eve Gala at the Hyatt Regency, New Orleans. This all-inclusive events includes performances by Cowboy Mouth, Chee-Weez, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Kid Kamillion, DJ Mike Swift and many more. Featuring burlesque performances, aerial acrobatics, multiple party rooms and dance floors and an all night open bar, the Big Night is the biggest night of the year. This all-inclusive event includes entertainment by acro-contortionists, aerial artists and a private view of the fireworks over the Mississippi River from the Jackson Brewery Bistro Bar balcony. This is a sell out event so make sure to get your tickets soon. Tickets begin at $85, with doors opening at 9 p.m.
