Mardi Gras - Tues, Feb. 21 - Travel Suggestions

Mardi Gras is a very festive time for New Orleans as the city comes alive! This is a huge celebration that culminates on Tuesday, February 21 or Fat Tuesday but is celebrated for several days prior. We want you to take advantage of this fabulous opportunity to experience Mardi Gras but please read through the information below so your adventure will be outstanding.

The streets of New Orleans are closed for parades and this can affect your hotel arrival. When considering your air travel, plan for your plane to arrive 1-2 hours prior to the suggested time below. This way you will be able to gather your luggage and make your way downtown to your hotel before the streets are closed to vehicle traffic.

Sat, Feb. 18, 2012: arrive before 1 p.m.
Sun, Feb. 19, 2012: arrive before 1 p.m.
Mon, Feb. 20, 2012: arrive before 5 p.m.
Tues, Feb. 21, 2012: arrive before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
Wed, Feb. 22, 2012: arrival any time

If you must travel during times outside of what is suggested above, please be prepared to experience street closings. Airport shuttle and taxis will do their best to get you near the ENA hotels. In addition, please note the French Quarter is closed to all vehicle traffic starting on Fri, Feb. 17 through Tues, Feb. 21, 2012.

If you wish to experience Mardi Gras, ENA has a limited inventory of rooms available at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Moneleone Hotel at the special ENA group rates for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Please make your hotel reservations prior to making your airline reservations to ensure availability.
