This Halloween weekend music lovers will meet at City Park to join in on one of the biggest festivals this city has to offer - Voodoo Music + Art Experience, October 31-November 2 at City Park.
The festival, which began in 1999, has grown tremendously, rivaling even Jazz Fest for attendance and big-name entertainment. As indicated in the title, this festival is an experience. It not only offers a wide variety of music on two main stages and several smaller stages, but it also offers vendors with everything from clothing to jewelry to visual art for sale.
This year's line-up includes well-known bands such as Foo Fighters, OutKast, Skrillex, Arctic Monkeys and local favorites such as Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Freedia, Rebirth Brass Band, Royal Teeth and Givers.
Art is taking a more prominent role at this year's festival. Installations both large and small, along with art for sale, will be at the fest for all to enjoy. Camping continues for the second year for those who wish to further immerse in the experience. This year the camping is limited to Camp Loa, a VIP glamping (glam-camping) experience for two that includes a safari-style tent, a queen bed, electricity, Rites credentials and more.
This festival is a favorite among locals and visitors. With the dates set near Halloween, many festival-goers show up to the festival in their costumes, but in a city like New Orleans, no one needs a reason to wear festive attire!
