World-renowned musician and Tremé resident Kermit Ruffins will host this day of discussions with the help of fellow musicians Shannon Powell, Benny Jones, Sidney Bechet, Gregory Davis, Phil Frazier and Bill Summers. They will survey their musical heritage, from its Senegambian roots to its symbiosis with every musical genre, and explore how the rich culture of Treme’ makes such music and the life of a musician possible.
