Art Home New Orleans is once again opening doors to the city's
elegant and eclectic homes and studios for the 3rd Annual weekend of
tours presented by the Creative Alliance of New Orleans, (CANO). This is
one of the nation's largest tours, this year of over 40 homes and
studios.
What: Art Home New Orleans is an annual self-guided public tour, this year on November 3rd and 4th
from 12-5pm. The tour highlights emerging artists as well as works in
private art collections. One participant said of last year's tour: "You
can go to galleries and museums anytime, but to meet the artists and see
the art in private collections brings out the essence of the city."
When and Where: The tour includes homes and studios citywide on
Saturday, November 3rd and in the Lower 9th Ward on Sunday, November
4th, from 12pm to 5pm on both days. Some of the artists included this
year are Prospect.2's Bruce Davenport Jr., blacksmith Rachel David,
painter Nicole Charbonnet, sculptor, Clifton Webb, photographers Kevin
Kline, and Christopher Porche West, the home of Enrique Alferez's
daughter Tlaloc Alferez and many more!
Also enjoy "wrap parties" at the end of the tours at Casa Borrega, 1719
Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard at 5pm on Saturday, and at the Art House
on the Levee, 4725 Dauphine Street, at 5pm on Sunday night.
How: With the purchase of tickets, tour participants receive a
map that guides them through the city visiting these vibrant, private
locations.
