French Market's annual family friendly Christmas event with live music, free craft booths, a petting zoo, and photos with Saint Nicholas in charming Dutch Alley.

 

 ALL ACTIVITIES ARE  FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
10:00  a.m. -   4:00 p.m. Petting Zoo, Mini Golf, Craft Booths, Photo Booth &  Facepainting OPEN ALL DAY-- PLUS Children’s Books and Author Signings throughout the day at a booth hosted by A Tisket A Tasket Bookshop!

Craft Booths are “Make and Take” tables hosted by local artists and art groups where  kids can create and decorate holiday items on-site and bring them home, including:  Ornaments, paper bag hats, stockings, bracelets, scarves,  and Christmas cards!  

11:00 to 11:30 a.m.  SAINT NICHOLAS ARRIVES!!!  Saint Nick Secondline through Dutch Alley with Lagniappe Brass Band
**Photos with St. Nicholas all day in Dutch Alley 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ***
 12 noon  Johnette Downing performs at Dutch Alley Performance Pavilion
12:00-12:45  p.m. FrenchQuartour Kids offers a complimentary French Market District "Christmastime in New Orleans" themed tour that includes a visit to the Mississippi River (just behind the French Market District) to talk about Papa Noel and the lighting of the bonfires, a stop at the fleur de lis tree near Cafe du Monde, and more!  (45 mins)
12 noon-12:45 p.m.  Jazz Park Rangers Matt Hampsey and Bruce Barnes with special guests N'Fungola Sibo African Dance & Drum Company for "Spirits of Congo Square" inside the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park
1:30 to 2:30            Jayna Morgan's Mistletoe and Stockings Jazz Band at Dutch Alley Performance Pavilion
2:00-3:00 p.m.      Navy Band New Orleans Jazz Combo at Dumaine Plaza at Dumaine & Decatur Streets
2:00 to 4:00 p.m.  Nari the Christmas Puppeteer performs in Dutch Alley
3:00 to 3:30 p.m.   Delfeayo Marsalis reads his new children’s book “No Cell Phone Day” accompanied by a saxophonist Rex Gregory and bassist Nathan Lambertson inside the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park
3:30-4:15  p.m.      FrenchQuartour Kids offers a complimentary French Market District "Christmastime in New Orleans" themed tour (45 mins)
4:00 to 4:30 p.m.    Crescent City Lights Youth Theater carolers perform Christmas carols with an accompanist inside the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park
5:00 to 6:00 p.m.    Real Love a capella quartet sings holiday "Do-Wap" songs beneath the tree at Washington Artillery Park
