Hogs for the Cause, named one of the Top 10 BBQ Festivals by delish.com, is excited to announce its expansion into a two-day event, with the addition of a Southern Asado Dinner. Coordinated by the Link Restaurant Group and featuring members of the Fatback Collective, the dinner will take place on Friday, March 22, 2013 at City Park at 6:30 pm with music by the Tom Leggett Trio during the cocktail hour.
The Fatback Collective (www.fatbackcollective.com) is a group of Southern chefs who have compiled numerous accolades and awards in restaurants across the South, but who also take the most pleasure in cooking outdoors. All the proteins, vegetables, and desserts at this dinner will be cooked whole and over an open fire in the tradition of an Argentinian asado. The dinner will begin with passed hors d’oeuvres, a seafood bar, and “hogtails” by Neal Bodenheimer. Guests will then enjoy salads and charcuterie before settling into a family-style dinner of roasted meats served with chimichurris. Wines will be generous and flowing courtesy of Neat Wines and the feast will wind down with roasted fruit pies and after dinner drinks. “I am honored to be a part of this event,” states Stephen Stryjewski, chef/owner of Cochon Restaurant. “Hogs for the Cause reflects what I hold to be important in both my personal and professional life. As a parent, I am happy to know there are organizations out there to help in a time of need. As a business owner, I am pleased to be able to contribute whenever possible.”
