Z-Day 5K + Festival to benefit the Louisiana & Jefferson SPCAs

 The event consists of a 5K military style obstacle course covered in mud & “blood” and will host runners who navigate the course to escape the hordes of zombies that will be set loose to “infect” them.  Individuals may register either to run the obstacle course or to be made over by Illusion Transfers as a zombie.  Entry fees are $35 for zombies and $70.00 for runners through Aug. 31.  Runner & zombie registration includes a free beer, complimentary shuttle service from Uptown New Orleans, event military dog tags (runners only), complimentary zombie SFX make-up (zombies only), FREE Fest admission, and a FREE event shirt.  Taking place alongside the 5K is Z-Day Fest, a celebration of New Orleans’ music and subculture.  Headlining the Fest will be Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes, plus Flow Tribe, Hot 8 Brass Band, Little Freddie King, The Stooges, and Tryal & Error.  Festival only tickets are $20.  To register and for more info, visit http://nolazombi.com or email info@nolazombie.com.
