This discussion of Tremé’s extensive history of female entrepreneurship will contemplate the challenges and struggles faced by these brave businesswomen, how their successes have helped to economically fuel a community and how their vilification was used to help malign it. Panelists: Dr. Emily Clark, Vera Warren-Williams, Joan Rhodes, Gina Charbonnet and Leah Chase.
Who Dat Got Dat Fire? 4:00pm – 6:00 pm The conversation between this elite cadre of women, each a cultural icon in her own right, will chronicle the vast contributions of the Tremé's women to the rich cultural heritage for which the neighborhood is so celebrated. Accomplishment in the city’s legacy of musical, literary, culinary, Mardi Gras Indian and Secondline traditions will be reflected upon. Panelists: Brenda Marie Osbey, Lillian Boutté, Gina Montana, Barbara Lacen-Keller, Cinnamon Black, and Neshia Ruffins.
