What goes better with charbroiled oysters than a side of hearty southern rhythm and blues?
For boiled crabs, we suggest classic 80's rock, or perhaps a multi-instrumental/vocal combo. And nothing beats our fried seafood platter paired with a top-shelf party band.
It's time for the food and music extravaganza known as Bucktober Wednesdays at Deanie's Seafood in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., from 6-8 p.m., with free live music and a menu full of our famous seafood specials every Wednesday in October. The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation is beneficiary of Deanie's Bucktober Wednesdays series.
 
One of New Orleans' favorite seafood restaurants, Deanie's in Bucktown will serve up drink specials and special dishes including charbroiled oysters and smoked brisket alongside the restaurant's full menu.

Oct. 2    Mississippi Rail Company
Featuring a soulful, bluesy blend of upright bass, tenor saxophone, keyboard and drums, Mississippi Rail Company released their first full-length album "Coal Black Train" in 2012.   
Oct. 9    Vince Vance & The Valiants
With Louisiana legend, composer, pianist and entertainer Vince Vance, this high energy musical revue has thrilled audiences of all ages from Coast to Coast with their unforgettable brand of music and comedy.
 
Oct. 16   Mia Borders
Singer/songwriter, Borders brings an energetic blend of blues, soul, funk and contemporary songwriting. Her second full-length album, "Magnolia Blue," earned her a nomination for Best Emerging Artist at the Big Easy Music Awards.
 
Oct. 23   Scott Schmidt Band
Led by singer/songwriter Scott Schmidt (currently lead singer of The Boogie Men), the Scott Schmidt Band plays a mix of original and classic rock and soul covers. Schmidt has a new CD, Timepiece," offering 11 rock & soul originals.
 
Oct. 30    Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs
Shamarr Allen is a native New Orleanian, entertainer, producer, trumpeter and cultural ambassador. Allen and the Underdawgs perform all original music blending jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and pop, including songs from their upcoming album "True Orleans."
