The O.C. Haley Boulevard Merchants and Business Association announces the 7th Annual Central City Festival—Make a Joyful Noise.  Festival goers will move to the rhythms of a range of music from bounce to secondline, and from jazz to Latin beats.  This year’s headliner is Cultural Ambassador IRVIN MAYFIELD &THE JAZZ PLAYHOUSE REVUE, no doubt bringing on electrifying lyrical and instrumental surprises. Other great entertainers include the Treme Brass Band, Fredy Omar, Lucky Lou, Creole Wild West Mardi Gras Indians, The Black Men of Labor, Sistahs Making a Change, Kuumba Institute, gospel choirs from New Home Family Worship Center and New Hope Baptist Church, and more.  Be there for the tribute to the late pastors Robert C. Blakes Sr. and John C. Raphael Jr.
Know any talented dancers ages 21 and under?  They can sign up now and possibly win cash prizes in the Bounce Dance Competition.
We’re moving on the boulevard.  Come to the festival and see what’s happening, and stick around for an amazing announcement about more excitement coming to the Oretha Castle Haley Blvd. corridor. If you’re interested in volunteering or being a crafts/retail vendor call (504) 528-1806 or (504) 569-9070.
