Kyle Kinane and Sean Patton are no strangers to the New Orleans comedy scene. Kinane, who tours regularly through New Orleans, and Patton, a New Orleans native, will be part of the late December showcase hosted by The New Movement and Hell Yes Fest. The show will take place Monday, December 30th at 9:00 at Cafe Istanbul, 2372 St. Claude Avenue, in the Bywater.
Kyle Kinane has been up and at it for almost half his life, mostly searching for what “it” might be. He has been on the TV via “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “The Very Funny Show” on TBS, “The World Stands Up” on the BBC and the Judd Apatow production Funny People. He was called “bleak and misanthropic” by the London Evening Standard, which he still feels may be a compliment. He is a regular opener for headliners such as Patton Oswalt and Brian Posehn. Askmen.com rated him #5 on their top 10 list of upcoming comedians.
Sean Patton is a comedian based in New York and Los Angeles by way of New Orleans. He cut his teeth doing standup in the Crescent city and has since performed at Caroline’s, The Comedy Cellar, Gotham, The Improv, UCBNY, UCBLA, The Melbourne International comedy festival (2011), The Montreal Just for Laughs comedy festival (2008, 2010, 2012), and many other clubs around the US and Canada. He made his Basic Cable debut on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” (2009) and his Network TV debut on “Late night with Jimmy Fallon” (2010). He also recently appeared on “Conan” (2011), and his first half hour special premiered on Comedy Central on 6/21/13.
Again, the show will take place at Cafe Istanbul, 2372 St. Claude Avenue in the Bywater. The show will also feature special guests Rojo Perez, Chris Trew, Ariel Elias. Tickets are on sale now for $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets and more information are available at www.tnmcomedy.com. The show will open at 9:00pm, with the show starting around 9:30pm.
