A Musical Paying Tribute To Erykah Badu Through Song, Dance And Skits

“Badu-izms is sexy, soulful and sincere--slipping seamlessly through playful intimacy, honest wisdom, and the audacity of independence. Weaving Erykah Badu’s music, gorgeous voices, and clever mini-stories, this show sings! You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll find yourself calling out “Sing, it Sister”, and you’ll want to see it again!!” -New Orleans Fringe Festival

Singer-songwriter, record producer, activist and actress Erykah Badu is known as the the “Queen of Neo Soul”, and Badu-izm’s pays a royal tribute. Badu’s nearly 20 year career started with a strong connection to her roots in her early teens, when she dropped her “slave name” and adopted her favorite jazz scat sound her last name. At age 26, Badu released her debut album “Baduizm”, which was certified triple platinum, and she has explored powerful themes through her songs and activism ever since. Badu-izms: A Tribute To Erykah presents the life and work of Badu intimately and authentically, and leaves audiences stunned by it’s soulfulness..
