All dishes on the menu are available in large and small plates and wines by the glass are offered in full and half pours, encouraging guests to savor different pairings at one sitting. After a nationwide search, Michael Farrell, a veteran restaurateur with New Orleans roots, has been chosen as Executive Chef. Chef Farrell brings a wealth of culinary experience to the new endeavor. He served as Executive Chef in a number of acclaimed eateries throughout the nation including Alto in Denver, The Summer House on Island, Anthem in Las Vegas and Beano’s Cabin in Beaver Creek, Co. The style he brings to Le Meritage evolved over the course of his career beginning with his coastal upbringing. Chef Farrell will utilize the very finest meats, Louisiana seafood, game and classic local ingredients in the creation of dishes such as Pan-Roasted Drum with Fava Bean Succotash & Fried Green Tomatoes and Braised Beef Short Rib with Parsnip Puree & Sorrel Gremolata. Calling all young singers! Jefferson Performing Arts Society is currently still accepting children and teens for their Children's Choirs and the NEW JPAS Jam & Jive Show Choir! To register and join, please drop by a rehearsal time for the appropriate age level choir to fill-out the paperwork and meet the choirs! (formerly the JPAS Youth Chorale). All choirs are vocally directed by Mary Lou with accompanist Garrett Fried. Rehearsals for the JPAS Apprentice Choir will be Saturdays from at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School, 4119 Saint Elizabeth Drive in Kenner and continue through the Spring. There is a one-time tuition fee of $300 for the Apprentice Choir plus additional costuming fees.

On December 20, 1803, the Louisiana Purchase was signed, confirming the transfer of the former French colony to the United States. Statehood, however, was not immediate. For nearly 10 years, Louisiana was entrenched in a turbulent period, rife with political disputes and culture clashes. The exhibition Between Colony & State: Louisiana in the Territorial Period, 1803-1812, and its companion online component, examines the people, places, and events that shaped this fascinating period. Highlights include manuscript maps, newspapers from the period, and artists' depictions of life during this time.

The Jazz & Heritage Gallery is pleased to announce "Congo Square Rhythms," an exhibit of paintings and mixed media works by Louisiana artists. The exhibit, will feature works by more than 25 local artists, each representing or inspired by the cultural legacy of Congo Square. Artists featured in the "Congo Square Rhythms" exhibit include: Ulrick Jean-Pierre, Shakor, Haitham Eid, Nat Williams, Sheila Phipps, Cecelia Tapplette-Pedescleaux, Bruce Brice, Larry Daniel Nevil, Michelle Levine, Ronald Jones, E. New Orleans Museum of Art Presents - Woodward Exhibition Opening Reception

Come join us at The Museum of Art Opening Reception for the William Woodward Exhibition. Drawing from the holdings of both institutions, the exhibition features more than 70 paintings, etchings, sculpture and ephemera related to Woodward's life and works. A native of Massachusetts, Woodward came to New Orleans in the 1880s to teach fine arts, mechanical drawing and architectural drawing at Tulane University.

Woodward was involved with every facet of architecture in New Orleans, consulting on the design of Tulane's new building for architecture classes. He also designed and built his own home in Uptown New Orleans. His interest in architecture evolved into a passionate commitment to preservation. The first artist to focus intensely on the Vieux Carré, Woodward documented the Quarter's rich cultural heritage in vignettes of daily life-women at market, street cleaners, deliverymen and milkmaids driving drayage carts and residents engaged in their daily activities.

Woodward's depictions of French Quarter buildings focused public attention on the heedless destruction of historic properties. The exhibition offers an opportunity to view a large selection of Woodward's renderings of the French Quarter and to judge the strength of his artistic contribution.
