Student National Medical Association, April 2015
Nearly six weeks have passed since we completed our annual conference, held in New Orleans, April 1-5, 2015. We are still cleaning up data, making reports and summarizing our results. You might like to know that, by most accounts, the meeting was wonderfully successful, with our numbers peaking at 1,300 people registered. With exhibitors and speakers, we can add another 400 people to that group, making a total meeting population of about 1,800 people.
As you know, our staff is small and, several years out, we rely heavily on excellent personnel at the host hotel and on a small cadre of support service providers that we engage on a regular basis. This year is no exception and we do not take for granted the work that you do or have done in support on SNMA. So, I want to take a moment now to thank each of you for supporting our 2015 Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC). New Orleans is a wonderful place to hold a meeting or just to visit and we are always happy to have the opportunity to hold our program there. We can’t wait to come again!
Thank you for helping us to continue to build on that success. On behalf of the SNMA Board of Directors and the Staff, Thank you!

Direct Gardening Association (DGA), January 2015
We had a lovely event in New Orleans! One particular highlight that should share well in your audience is we contacted the Master Gardeners in your area and invited them to join us for a Consumer Panel. I led the panel that was such a hit that our next event will have another local Consumer Panel. We all had a great time with the Louisiana Master Gardeners! We asked them about their experiences/history with gardening and their experiences with on-line retailers. They were wonderfully rich sharing their stories! We could have gone on for hours! It was mutually beneficial for Direct Gardening Association and the gardeners. They also received wonderful gardening tubs full of gifts from our members! They used the extra tub FULL of goodies at their annual conference! It was a great opportunity for our attendees to hear the challenges faced with the heat and such in New Orleans yet they might have been ordering from some frozen spot in March! Made us all think and consider each other's perspective. Golden!
Our hotel was not just lovely but in a wonderful location for food, fun and frolicking. The staff was attentive and fun. The chef brought my teammate a king cake on the last day! The ambiance of your city was just as delightful as every story ever told! Charming.

Pittcon, March 2015
What great week I had in New Orleans. Pittcon 2015 was a resounding success if measured by the participants reviews, especially the exhibitors. The success was due in no small measure to all the help we get from our friends in New Orleans, especially the New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, who gave us way more than expected to help Pittcon be successful. You all are great.
-Dick Obrycki, Secretary to the Board of Directors for Pittcon 2015 and Chairman of the Site Selection Committee for Pittcon 2015 and 2016.
I would like to add my sincere thanks to the comments from Dick Obrycki regarding our recent PITTCON 2015 Conference held in New Orleans. We received nothing but outstanding support from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB). We were particularly impressed with the uniquely New Orleans flavor that our opening ceremonies acquired with the band provided by the CVB. The extra efforts provided by the Center, the Convention and Visitors Bureau staff and the people of New Orleans are deeply appreciated by the Pittsburgh Conference.

Thank you so much to each of you for all you did to help us make The Rental Show 2015 such a great success. Our attendance increased for the sixth straight year, which we're obviously very pleased with! We also sent out our attendee and exhibitor surveys last week and are receiving a lot of great feedback on New Orleans.
Again, thanks very much for everything! Looking forward to working together again for 2018.
-Chris Coleman, Marketing Manager
On behalf of the General Society of the War of 1812, thank you for assissting us with the planning of our commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orelans. Thanks to your help, our New Orleans event had the largest participation of any commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812. Despite frigid temperatures, New Orleans' warm welcome attracted 215 of our members from 26 states. Your help in posting a microsite, advertising our vendor requirements and providing city maps and materials made a big difference in our attendance.
-William Allerton III, Vice President General - Public Relations
"I want to thank you very much for your help in making my client's convention a huge success. The 400+ attendees at the HomeVestors of America Convention last week at the New Orleans Marriott had a great time. My client is getting rave reviews from their attendees. I am confident that my client will return to New Orleans in the future. I am meeting with them in January to discuss their future convention sites and I will keep you updated. I certainly enjoyed meeting both of you and I can't thank you enough for everything you did for my client."

LogistiCare Solutions, L.L.C., September 2014
Two weeks ago I would have said that I was dreading the trip to New Orleans but after visiting your city and working with the AWESOME folks at The Westin, Mardi Gras World, Jean Lafitte Swamp Tours, Pat O'Brien's and Royal Carriages I have to say I was very, very wrong. Now it's... NOLA, what a GREAT city.
I'm happy to say that all our meeting attendees said this was the BEST Annual Retreat that LogistiCare has sponsored. I realize this could not have been accomplished without help from all the above venues.
Everyone...the sales teams, the event coordinators, the swamp guides, the carriage drivers...EVERYONE we had contact with...were helpful, friendly and had the "get the job done" attitude. These are the folks that made our event SUCCESSFUL.
I wanted to express my gratitude to them by letting the New Orleans Conventions & Visitors Bureau know that I would recommend any of these venues to other Meeting Coordinators. I would let it be known they would truly benefit from utilizing any or all of them for their next NOLA event.
I also would like to thank the New Orleans Conventions & Visitors Bureau for broadcasting my RFP request during the initial hotel search. I have found this to be the most effective way to reach out to potential properties. Your assistance makes my job much easier.
Thanks to the city of New Orleans for hosting our event.-Debra L. Brooks, Assistant to CEO
Blue Star Inc., VARTECH 2014, September 2014
A quick note of "thanks" for all that you did to make VARTECH 2014 the best show ... ever! Our attendees can't stop talking about the "Night at the Superdome" and the Parade to the French Quarter, not to mention all the other show elements. Your guidance was instrumental in our success and we can't thank you enough!
-Dean Reverman, Global Marketing Manager
I just returned from a convention in New Orleans and was reminded again why your city is such a great draw...and you know what, a lot of it has to do with the people who interact with visitors. The welcoming spirit in New Orleans is unmatched anywhere in the United States (and I say that living in Tucson, where we rely on visitors, too!-Elaine Walsh, Founder
Convention Industry Council, 2014 CMP Conclave, September 2014
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the New Orleans CVB! I can honestly say our site visit to New Orleans was the best site I've ever been on. You went so over the top to ensure we could effortlessly accomplish so much in so little time. Your help, guidance and wonderful suggestions throughout the site were right-on-the-mark and greatly appreciated. I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done and are doing to make the 2014 CMP Conclave a great success.

Thank you to the CVB for providing excellent assistance and making our convention in New Orleans such a success. We were honored to be able to include City Council Member, Latoya Cantrell in our welcome program and thrilled to receive a personal welcome letter form Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu. New Orleans is a great convention city and has the right people heading up their Convention and Visitors Bureau. Again, thanks and keep up the great work!

Verde Events, January and April 2014
Verde Events truly enjoyed managing 2 significant programs with 3 major events in January (with NADA/Automotive Dealer Mtg) and in April (with major Pharmacy Benefits client).
Our venue selections: The Foundry, Generations Hall and Arnaud's were authentic NOLA.
The Foundry lends itself to a perfect Speakeasy theme. Guests were thrilled with the menu at the Foundry and Tanya is such a delight to plan with. Anais St John performed...she is a knockout! Décor by UrbanEarth was absolutely fabulous...and that is saying something because Verde Events has extremely high creative standards!
The evening at Generations Hall began with three distinct dinners themed in three distinct NOLA décor concepts (Bayou, Garden District, and French Quarter). Again, UrbanEarth outdid themselves. For dessert, the walls opened for the party to begin! "Laissez les bons temps rouler!" When Rockin' Dopsie and the Zydeco Twisters are the band...good times are rolling!
In 28 years in my hospitality career, I can say without hesitation: Arnaud's Restaurant is the very best "buy-out" ever. Arnaud's guarantees 750 guests a gourmet dining experience...how do they do it??? Lisa and Kaitlin made us feel like family. I am in awe of Arnaud's.
Not only did UrbanEarth deliver stunning and creative décor...they also assisted in "putting some soul" and Corporate Social Responsibility into the night. We challenged them to involve St. Michael's Special School to assist in creating some of our "Art". Our client felt the evening was much more special knowing the school benefitted from creating the Art. UrbanEarth and James Clawson are Verde Event's partners for life!
The spirit and personality of New Orleans is extraordinary. New Orleans gave Verde Events the opportunity to deliver 3 exceptional events this year while building trust (and friendships) with some of the hospitality industry's most respected leaders.
We cannot wait to be back!
-Karen Coley, CMP, President, Verde Events
Tango Festival, June 2014
"Wow! This is the best turn out we have had for the Tango Festival since 2005. We have already booked more than three times the number of room nights that we expected! The CVB has helped so much in marketing our event. A couple from Georgia is even coming down for their honeymoon thanks to seeing our listing on the CVB calendar. I'm already anticipating a repeat of this success in New Orleans next year!"

Association for Enterprise Opportunity, National Conference, May 2014
"The service we received prior to our arrival and throughout our stay in New Orleans was outstanding. We had a wonderful time and our guests raved about the service, meeting spaces and overall experience. The second line parade was so fun and unique - we can't wait to do it again!"
-Devette Brabson, President, Over the Top Marketing
Romantic Times Publishing Group, RT Booklovers Convention, May 2014
"Thanks to the incredible work of our partners at the CVB, this was, without a doubt, our best convention in our 31 year history! We had by far the largest crowds ever for the entire event and had a blast at our Mardi Gras World Carnivále. My favorite part was the Pub Crawl, facilitated by Signature Events, and we had an amazing turn out - literally 1,500+ people descending on Bourbon Street at the same time!"
-Carol Stacy, Publisher
International Sleep Products Association, ISPA Expo, March 2014
"This was one of the biggest and best ISPA Expo show floors in our nearly 100 year history! The CVB and tightly knit hotel community makes planning for New Orleans so easy. Despite a conflicting overseas conference that took away some of our typical attendance, we had 25% international attendance. The staff at the Mew Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center was one of the best I have ever worked with and we can't wait to come back to New Orleans in 2020."
-Catherine Lyons, Senior Vice President, ISPA
"Our experience in New Orleans was tremendous. With billions of dollars' worth of improvements and upgrades, the city is better and more inviting than ever!
The CVB and New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center staff was amazing and worked closely with us every step of the way. The cooperation between the sales and event staff, operations department, shuttle bus company, security and IT teams was great - it was clear to us how hard everyone worked to make it a great event. Thanks to awesome teamwork, we had exhibitors telling us that it was the best convention center that they've ever worked with.
With 22,000 attendees, we filled nearly all of the hotels and the staff went over and above to welcome our attendees and make them feel comfortable.
This wasn't our first time in New Orleans and we can't wait to be back in 2017 for our 100th Anniversary! Thanks to the CVB and everyone in the city for embracing the NADA and making our event such a huge success."
- Stephen Pitt, Vice President, Conventions & Expositions, NADA
"My colleagues came back from New Orleans absolutely raving about the city, the hotel and the hotel staff. We all know that the weather last week was a challenge for our attendees as well as New Orleans. Thank you for being so flexible and for willing to work with our staff to make it a great event. Your updates about the city and the weather were invaluable in keeping our staff and attendees in the loop as to what was going on. You continually went above and beyond."

National Council of LA Raza, July 2013
"Clean 2013 was a success. It's no small task presenting an industrial trade show featuring working equipment that uses the full spectrum of utilities an exhibition hall offers. Much credit goes to the extraordinary staff of the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. Thanks also to the people at the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau for always being ready to help us, and for being such welcoming hosts."
-Paul Philips, Exhibits & Housing Manager
Kichen and Bath Industry Show, April 2013
"Throughout the course of my career I have had the pleasure of working with a number of top tier destinations. None have matched the level of service and professionalism that we experienced during the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) this past April. The city of New Orleans, the convention center, hotel/hospitality community and the staff of the NOCVB were all gracious hosts for our event. The feedback from the National Kitchen and Bath Association membership, our attendee community and exhibitors have echoed this same sentiment. Our experience was top notch and I would recommend this destination to any event organizer interested in a one of a kind event experience. Thank you New Orleans!"
-Brian Pagel, Vice President
Confidential Association, May 2013
"Having never been to Louisiana, my entire perception of New Orleans was - what else - Mardi Gras. But the city is so much more! History, culture, diversity, food, antiques, music. The CVB staff is arguably the best in the country; responsive, knowledgeable, professional, but with a warmth that makes you feel like they've got your back. My Convention Sales Manager and Convention Services Account Executive both sought creative and unique solutions to my ideas (no matter how whacky), and, in the end, offered the best and entirely successful options for my group."
-LG, Meeting Planner for trade association
"After hosting the CIES 2013 conference in New Orleans, we have heard nothing but positive feedback about the hotel, the offsite venues and the city itself from our attendees. The assistance the CVB provided us with through every step of the way was priceless and helped to ensure a successful conference. We also enjoyed the "local flare" that your onsite helpers brought to our conference. They were all delightful to work with as well as knowledgeable and were flexible on their duties and work hours as needed.
Overall, NOLA was the perfect venue for this conference!"
-Brandi Host, Senior Conference Coordinator
"As an independent meeting planner for more than 20 years, I have frequently worked with CVB's in cities throughout the US. Although most are helpful, I was very impressed with the New Orleans CVB, even though my group was only 80 attendees. From my very first contact, straight though the meeting, everyone at the CVB went above and beyond to help me out, as I was not very familiar with New Orleans and only had been there a few times many years ago. During my two site visits, they gave me their full attention and escorted me around the city, making sure I had all the information I needed before arriving and during my stay. The meeting was most successful, thanks to all the assistance and guidance I received from the members of the NOCVB. As a result, I would definitely bring other groups to the city, should the occasion arise."-Nancy Church, CMP, President
