The Big Game

Super Bowl XLVII was a tremendous win for the city of New Orleans. Visitors had a chance to experience all that New Orleans has to offer, from the food to the music to the hospitality. Whether they came to the city for the first time or they were a frequent guest to New Orleans, the heart and soul of the Big Easy is something they will not soon forget.

Mayor Landrieu"I have never been prouder to be a New Orleanian. By every measure SuperBowl XLVII was a huge win for the city," said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "This was a spectacular week and it only was made possible by great planning and great execution by all of our partners. Our tenth Super Bowl was without a doubt, our best one. Our entire team worked tirelessly for several years to prepare for Super Bowl week and to show the world that nobody can host a large scale event like this city. All of our projects were completed on time, our city was kept safe and we put on a great show for the world. Everyone involved went above and beyond the call of duty, from our executive team and the host committee to our fire and police departments, the 17,000 volunteers and all of thecitizens of New Orleans who served as such gracious hosts. The City of New Orleans shined brightly on the world stage this week, but the story is much, much bigger than the Super Bowl. This is a story about the resurrection and redemption of a great American city. The Super Bowl gave us an opportunity to reflect on where we've been and where we're going. We are so proud of our city."
