Broadway Across America

Broadway in New Orleans is Too Good to be True!

New Orleans is known for its diverse musical history, but few know about the city's dedication to the performing arts. The sons and daughters of the Big Easy gave life to Jazz, sang the blues and embraced live theater. Classical music, dance and operas have been staples in the city's performing arts for centuries, solidifying our status as the cultural center of the South. World class theatrics makes its way to New Orleans, as some of Broadway's biggest performers step in to the limelight.

Even though Disney & Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins has left New Orleans, locals and visitors alike look forward to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Jersey Boys, the international phenomenon Flashdance, performances of America's Rock and Roll icons in Million Dollar Quarter and, back by popular demand, Wicked, at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts, located at 1419 Basin Street.
