Live Music 7 Nights a Week

In New Orleans, you can "do whatcha wanna" any night of the week, whether it's stopping in for a cool jazz show or getting funky at the Maple Leaf Bar. Here are just a few choices for New Orleans live music options:

Preservation Hall Jazz Band at Preservation Hall
This French Quarter classic has been an instrumental part of preserving jazz heritage since opening in 1961. The house band plays all over the world for the same reason.

Chicken and Waffles at The Maison
If you are taking a stroll down Frenchmen Street, stop by the Maison. A majority of their shows are free, so just walk in, grab a drink and enjoy the jazz music.

Big Al Carlson at the Funky Pirate
Big Al Carlson is a mainstay at this long-standing Bourbon Street club. Order a tall Hand Grenade (one of the strongest drinks in the French Quarter) and take in the blues and jazz of this New Orleans legend.

Rebirth Brass Band at the Maple Leaf Bar
Come listen to the famous Rebirth Brass Band in one of the New Orleans' oldest music clubs.

Irvin Mayfield at Irvin Mayfield's Jazz Playhouse at the Royal Sonesta
Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Irvin Mayfield stops into his namesake music venue when he's not touring the world.

Tom Hook & Wendell Brunious at Hotel Monteleone's Carousel Bar
The French Quarter's only revolving bar provides amazing specialty cocktails and great live music. Enjoy this whimsical hotspot while sipping a cocktail to live jazz.

Karaoke at Cat's Meow
The city's music scene tends to rub off on people, which might be why this karaoke bar is so famous.

Ogden After Hours at Ogden Museum of Southern Art
Every Thursday is a party at Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Come see the Museum's diverse Collection as you listen to the music of the South.

Thursday's Twilight Concert Series at New Orleans City Park
Showcasing the finest musicians in New Orleans, the Twilight Concert Series features an assortment of southern music. Beverages and food are provided as you enjoy the music in the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in the City Park's Botanical Garden.

Ellis Marsalis at Snug Harbor
This jazz-piano trio lights up the stage at Snug Harbor, one of the great music clubs of the famous Frenchmen Street entertainment district.

Jazz: Live at Hyatt at Hyatt Regency New Orleans
Experience the unique local talent every weekend while you sip speciality cocktails and try delicious small plates.

Jeremy Davenport at the Ritz-Carlton
The Davenport Lounge at the Ritz is named after this jazz trumpeter; see why Thursday-Saturday nights.

Shotgun Jazz Band at Three Muses
Three Muses is a great local spot on the famous Frenchmen Street. This restaurant and bar is the place to be for cocktails, small plates and unique music.

Cajun music at Tipitina's
Take a break from jazz and listen to native, accordion- and fiddle-inspired music at this Uptown institution.

Sunday Jazz Brunch at The Columns Hotel
There is always something happening at The Columns, and the best way to enjoy a brunch is eating while you listen to some jazz.
